Reconstructing Philanthropy
TruNorth Foundation's theory of change draws inspiration from the Reconstruction Era (1865–1877). Recognizing the need for sustainable, inclusive systems, we believe that beyond addressing immediate needs, philanthropy should dismantle the systems that created them.
We’re reimagining giving as a catalyst for transformative, community-driven impact. Our strategic philanthropy model mobilizes resources to cultivate leaders, amplify powerful stories, and build sustainable institutions that foster equity and self-determination.
What is Strategic Philanthropy?
Strategic philanthropy is a method of giving that aims to maximize the impact of philanthropic efforts. Our new model, inspired by ABFE, will integrate individual, foundation, and business memberships to foster meaningful change worldwide. This aligns with TruNorth Foundation's mission to enhance nonprofit capabilities and develop community leaders, promoting self-determination and community empowerment.
